The
triumph in the World Cup: the celebration of words Words in
order to win the love of the ball

The
celebration of words does not limit itself to the area of
the triumph. It takes the streets in order to generate new
products in combination with other artistic displays. The
new game without exclusions based on bouncing the words, centering
them on the area of the expressiveness, spinning their meanings
out, and scoring new goals of fantasy in the full creation
of language, in the expressiveness of the film-makers and
in the smiles of the pictorial humor.
The art of the full creation
Throughout
the Latin-American participation in the competition, we can
throw into relief a big handful of curiosities which surpass
that experience carried out by Günter Grass and the SC
Friburgo, based on the reading of fragments by the writer
in a stadium filled with 25.000 supporters after winning the
Nobel prize in 1999.
In
the Latin-American Community exists a great variety of tactics
and strategies when language has to be enlarged in its artistic
version of full creation thanks to articles based on Nobel
prizes for Literature, writers transformed into current sports
columnists and compositions based on events of the final phases.
A
ranking as far as countries are concerned offers numerous
curiosities. In Chile, the final phase in 1962 inspired to
write the poem "Homenaje al Mundial" Julio Barrenechea
won the National prize for Literature of Chile with. In Colombia;
the Nobel prize Gabriel García Márquez discussed
the Andrés Escobar's death who was back, after an auto-goal
in the match Colombia-United States of the edition in 1994.
In Spain, the championship in 1950 gave rise to "Romance
de las botas de Zarra en el España-Chile en Río
de Janeiro" by Pedro de Miranda; and the edition in 1982
transformed numerous writers into columnists and commentators
of current affairs, among them, we can throw into relief the
Nobel prize Camilo José Cela and Miguel Delibes. Another
special case is in Paraguay, where Augusto Roa Bastos prepares
a biography based on José Luis Chilavert (goal-keeper),
idol in the edition in 1998. This idol shares with the writer
the worry for the people's luck or the fight against the political
corruption and assumed a great part of the expenses of a surgical
operation for heart which was performed on the writer in Buenos
Aires. And in Peru, it's important to say in the edition in
1982 how Mario Vargas Llosa practiced as reputable newspaper
correspondent in Vigo and wrote "Elogio de la crítica
de fútbol" , text where he expounded paper is
a variety of contemporary literature of fiction which creates
mythology, grafts unreal things onto the daily reality and
adds a magical dimension of the human experience.
Uruguay: napkins and propelling pencils
In
Uruguay, the propelling pencils have bled to death in lines
of writing dedicated to football with a great success in order
to throw into relief sounds, colors, collective emotions,
shared happiness and fear, multiplicity of rhythms, humor,
bitterness
when they are going to be discovered again
with eagerness thanks to the triumph of the foot. If the contributions
by Mario Benedetti to the narration based on football with
"Puntero izquierdo" and by Eduardo Galeano with
a reflective style in El Fútbol, a sol y sombra are
usually recognized in a general way, the win in the World
Cup has offered an innovatory characteristic or feature.
The
social celebration has given rise to the letters' celebration
with the literary exaltation carried out by José María
Delgado in "La hazaña" for the triumph in
1930 and by Lucha Odín Fleitas in "Golkíper"
in 1950. And it was also good for promoting the admiration
for Obdulio Varela to literary category in all the levels
of society, just as the characters of the works by Carlos
Martínez Moreno reflect.
Brazil:
the hope dance
The
tri age, taking into account football as dance, generated
works in Portuguese and Spanish language due to the great
admiration it aroused. Among the first ones we can throw into
relief the compositions by Jorge Amado, Mário Filho,
Armando Nogueira, Manuel Picón or Vinicius de Moraes
dedicated to the game and the myths of Pelé and Garrincha.
Besides, for the history of the World Cup the championship
in 1958 was sung by Francisco Firmino de Paula and Joao Severo
de Lima; the success in 1962 was reflected by Alipio Bispo
dos Santos and Jean Cau with his story "Todos somos brasileños";
the triumph in 1970 is within some poems by Palito, Carlos
Drummond de Andrade and by Manuel d'Almeida Filho as well
as in poems by the Uruguayan writer Horacio Ferrer in "Balada
para Pelé" and by the Spanish Vicente Gaos in
"Oración por un gol".
Argentina: evocations and oranges
The
Argentinian literature with theme based on football appears
in all type of literary genres to the extent of creating audio-visual
shows of evocation which include literature and football,
like the ones presented by José Luis Cantori, Alejandro
Apo or Bernando Bergé. The list of football authors
is wide and the triumph in the World Cup managed to inspire
Carlos Ferreira with the poem "Mundial", Rodolfo
Braceli with his casificción "Un gaucho histórico
en el Mundial del 78" and María José Campoamor
with the theater monologue "Corre y no cae" in order
to recreate historic moments of sport and difficulties of
the history from the goal scored by Mario Kempes in the final.
The
win in 1986 in Mexico had its literary exponent with the goal
scored by Diego Armando Maradona over England with the stories
"El día del gol" by Rodolfo Braceli, "Dieguito"
by José Pablo Feinmann and "Final" by Rodrigo
Fresán. Besides, Maradona figure led Osvaldo Soriano
to the concentration of the Creole selection team in Trigoria,
during the World Cup in 1990, who was amazed by the footballer's
ability to kick an orange with all his body, to the extent
of being used for the creation of the story "El hijo
de Butch Cassidy".
The
expressiveness
Famous
film-makers have also done voice-overs and carried out papers
in order to throw into relief the sports show's expressiveness
and explain their opinions about the championship. Thus, among
others, the case of the Spanish José Luis Garci in
1994 for the newspaper of Madrid ABC is outstanding, together
with the Chilean Antonio Skármeta in the match Chile-Uruguay
for the ranking in the World Cup in 1998 on the TVN channel
of Uruguay.
The
smile
The
social voice-over about the triumph based on foot has also
caused smiles, with an excellent level in Argentina. Numerous
aces pictorial humorists (Caloi, Fontanarrosa, Garaycochea,
Mordillo, Quino
) have paid attention to their selection
team's evolution in the different editions of the World Cup,
but perhaps the Clemente character illustrates this state
of passionate participation and white and sky-blue liveliness,
character who throws a shower of paper around a world ball,
goes out of the window of his house and celebrates the championship
going round the Earth planet with euphoria several times or
manages to be in ecstasy holding Carlos Gardel in a warm embrace
in the Corrientes avenue.
